Hi my name is Jamal Zahir and I am very excited to serve you! I am experienced in tutoring, mentoring, and assisting underserved minority communities.
I was raised in Denver, CO, USA where I completed my Bachelors Degree with Honors at the University of Colorado - Denver.
I am an International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma recipient which is a global curriculum based in Geneva, Switzerland. I am also a Daniels Fund® Scholar, a full scholarship with room & board. Finally, I am a 13-month University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Undergraduate Pre-Health Program intern.
I have a wide range of expertise including, but not limited to, United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE ®) Step 1 (240+) and Step 2 CK (240+) preparation and clinical research guidance.
I am currently a 4th-year medical student of Ross University School of Medicine located in Barbados, West Indies where I was a tutor for medical students and earned the Chancellor's Academic Achievement Award.
I have completed clinical rotations in places like St. Anthony Hospital (Chicago, IL), California Hospital Medical Center - Dignity Health (Los Angeles,CA), St. Agnes Hospital (Baltimore, MD) and K. Alex Kim Plastic Surgery (Beverley Hills, CA).
I am currently an Orthopaedic Spine Research Fellow participating in orthopaedic biomechanical research.
I am especially passionate about helping underserved, underrepresented, underprivileged, and non-traditional clients.
Finally, some of my hobbies include mixed martial arts, chess, competing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, spending time with family & friends, hiking, fishing, photography & videography, cooking, and listening to podcasts like Behind the Knife, OrthoBullets, Lex Friedman, and Andrew Huberman.
